About The Position
Great Lakes Wine & Spirits is a growing statewide company seeking an Assistant Transportation Supervisor for one of our depots in Metro Detroit. The Assistant Transportation Supervisor will be responsible for opening, closing, and securing the work area (or building) by following company policy while assisting drivers with the breakdown of handling the in(out)-bound loads. Other duties include ensuring all routes go out, covering routes as needed which may include delivering a route, ensuring all conditions are met to perform successful bidding, managing incoming calls and emails, and assisting in issue resolution. The role also involves maintaining accurate customer information, ensuring customer satisfaction, assisting in the reconciliation of routes, auditing invoices, and monitoring breakage and supply usage. Safety and security guidelines must be followed, and the work area should be surveyed daily to identify and correct issues. The Assistant Transportation Supervisor will also monitor employee attendance, maintain timekeeping systems, manage hiring and discharge processes, author reports, train and evaluate subordinates, conduct team meetings, and ensure safety guidelines are communicated and followed.
