The Assistant Risk Trader works closely with the Risk Trader and Head Trader by supporting and promoting trading services. This position is responsible for aiding the Head Traders and Risk Traders in their work to provide trading services. The Assistant Trader will not be allowed to risk capital for the firm or to determine which securities can be offered for sale. This role serves as a stepping stone for a future position as a Risk Trader, requiring more in-depth knowledge of the product area they are working in. Responsibilities include answering phones, setting up offering sheets, updating inventory pages, sending out information requested by financial advisors, and assisting Head Traders or Risk Traders as needed. The Assistant Trader must abide by all Policies and Procedures of Stifel and comply with all relevant laws and regulations in the securities industry. They are also responsible for reporting suspicious trading activity and ensuring the accuracy of every trade they assist with. Additionally, they may assist in preparing marketing materials, which must be reviewed before distribution.
