About The Position

The Assistant Track Coach for Distance and Mid-Distance at Rampart High School is responsible for coaching, developing, and supervising the athletic program. This part-time position reports to the Athletic Director and/or a head coach, focusing on fostering individual and team growth while ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. The coach will create a competitive environment, manage equipment, and maintain communication with stakeholders, all while promoting a positive atmosphere for student-athletes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Teaching Certification.
• ASEP Certification - American Sport Education Program.
• CHSAA Certification - Colorado High School Activities Association.
• NFHS Coaching Fundamentals Certification - National Federation of State High Schools.
• Initial or Professional Teacher License from the Colorado Department of Education.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in coaching track and field or similar sports.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching, development, and supervisory responsibilities for the athletic program.
• Communicate high expectations for athlete behavior and reinforce these expectations.
• Develop practice plans that assist with the advancement of individual skills and strategy development.
• Evaluate assistant coach(es) where applicable.
• Maintain and manage equipment, ensuring it is inventoried and stored properly.
• Supervise all facilities and athletes before, during, and after practices and competitions.
• Plan for character development of all athletes in the program.
• Communicate regularly with the Athletic Director and stakeholders.
• Seek professional growth and learning opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with rules and regulations of governing bodies.
