This position is responsible for assisting in the promotion of Washoe County (Reno, Sparks, and Incline Village) and surrounding areas, as appropriate, as a tourism destination and for achieving the goals and objectives of the Reno Sparks Convention & Visitor's Authority (RSCVA). In addition to the optimum candidate having tourism knowledge, the Assistant Sales Manager will assist in effectively promoting Washoe County to tourism travel trade and is responsible for sourcing business with potential and established client base contracting area hotels. Additionally, the Assistant Tourism Sales Manager will cultivate third party data partner sites for top selling travel agencies to Washoe County, develop and maintain up-to-date room and air booking results to be used in developing and implementing digital and traditional tourism sales and marketing programming. Including but not limited to Amadeus, Mail Pound, TA Connect, Travel Click, TravProMedia, Simpleview, etc.). Primary work will occur in the RSCVA’s administrative offices, however, at times work may occur in any one of the RSCVA’s facilities, area hotels/activities and in/out of market while participating/attending FAMS, tradeshows and sales missions. The Assistant Tourism Sales Manager is expected to be able to work without close supervision. This position may, on occasion, interact with RSCVA management/co-workers, community business/hotel partners and outside vendors.
