About The Position

As the Assistant to the Vice Provost, you will support the mission of Student Affairs by serving as a member of the senior leadership team. You will provide support of a substantial and confidential nature to the Vice Provost. This includes serving as the primary point of contact for the Vice Provost with both internal and external constituencies; assists and represents the Vice Provost in communicating with constituents; researches, prioritizes, and follows-up on multiple issues and concerns addressed to the office principal, including those of a sensitive and/or confidential nature; manages a variety of special projects for the department, Student Affairs Division, Campus/University. Duties include but are not limited to providing comprehensive administrative support, responsible for maintaining open communication and collaboration among internal and external constituents; project planning and management; research; event coordination; office management, and strategic plan. This position is proactive, takes initiative, is efficiently responsive, undertakes projects with little direction or guidance, and analyzes and summarizes information for reports. Work and information handled is of a nature regularly requiring confidentiality and the exercise of discretion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other relevant field AND five (5) years of managing administrative support experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Computer software skills, including the ability to use office software, such as databases, spreadsheets, word processing.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of policies and procedures in a complex academic institution or similar, complex organization.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evening and occasional weekends.
  • Experience in handling personnel administration.
