Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of performing arts
  • Must navigate databases, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office suite, social media, and Canva or Photoshop with ease
  • Attention to detail in scheduling meetings with appropriate follow-up on email conversations
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills
  • Detail-oriented in all aspects.

  • Demonstrated ability working with a diverse population of artists, students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as communications liaison between the Director, Dewberry School of Music, and students, faculty, and the University community
  • Manage calendar/schedule for the Director, Dewberry School of Music
  • Schedule meetings, record minutes, and prepare meeting technology for the School of Music
  • Ensure efficiency of academic processes, e.g., faculty and staff searches, supervising student office assistants and marketing interns
  • Manage office and assist new faculty and staff members
  • Create graphic designs for events in Canva or Photoshop
  • Design bi-monthly Constant Contact newsletters promoting upcoming concerts, initiatives, announcements etc.
  • Curate social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and X with the assistance of an intern.
