About The Position

Technical Manager is tasked with working collaboratively with clients managing technical needs to ensure event success with a base and focus on one hotel, as well as with our IT team to perform all levels of tasks such as troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.

Requirements

  • Degree or Certificate in Audio Engineering or other related field
  • Minimum of two years event technology experience in a hospitality environment
  • Minimum two years demonstrated managerial experience
  • Ability to identify and sell AV equipment for events ensuring budgets are met
  • Rich comprehension of Film and Television post production workflow, including projection and technical direction of film, live video and audio-based screenings and events.
  • Ability to react and excel in a high-pressure, deadline driven environment.
  • Solid working knowledge in all required software and programming languages: Microsoft 365, Logic Pro, Protools, Playback Pro, Dolby Software, Barco Communicator, Christie Control software, Dante, etc.
  • Understanding of Projectors and how to maintain them
  • Ability to plan Capex projects, maintain budget and produce reports for upper management
  • Exceptional communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers via email and in person concerning AV requirements to ensure events that exceed expectations, meeting requests and upselling when appropriate.
  • Management of planned workflow and execution of major industry film and television premieres and related Audio/Visual events.
  • Supervise screening room events at assigned hotel, with the potential to assist at the other properties when needed, to ensure state of the art product and delivery.
  • Travel as needed between properties.
  • Deliver all requested and required services consistently, on time and within budget.
  • Act as primary contact for clients and customers seeking customized technical solutions and services.
  • Assign AV required to ensure event success
  • Ensure all code and product produced meets Firmdale standards.
  • Oversee user testing and report results, adjusting requirements as needed.
  • Maintain consistent communication to update on progress and any changes in plans and production.
  • Supervise AV Technicians
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal team members, clients and potential clients.
