Where You Will Work Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode. What You Will Do This role focuses on developing employees' skills in safety, compliance, and operational and maintenance tasks through technical training that combines standardized materials with personal expertise. Training is delivered both in classrooms and hands-on through simulation and field settings, ensuring engagement and adherence to regulatory and internal standards. Additionally, the role evaluates on-the-job performance using predefined assessments to confirm safe and effective skill application, contributing to a collaborative and capable workforce. Deliver hands-on training and simulations, proctor standardized assessments, and collaborate with supervisors to address skill gaps and escalate concerns when needed. Facilitate interactive classroom and computer-based training sessions using activities and discussions to improve retention. Maintain accurate records of attendance and assessment results in the LMS. Participate in train-the-trainer programs and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Provide input for developing competency-based learning materials and mentor instructors to support team and organizational goals.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical competence equivalent to an experienced operator or mechanical tradesperson/journeyman
  • Five years of directly related work experience leading teams or facilitating training in a relevant field
  • Proven computer literacy including MS Office and Windows
  • Demonstrated behaviors aligned with technical training values and company policies
  • Skill in analytical thinking
  • Desire and willingness to learn and grow
  • Passion for developing others
  • Effective communication skills with diverse groups
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written safety-related instructions in English
  • Ability to communicate in English regarding job assignments, procedures, and safety standards
  • Experience in adult education or corporate training preferred
  • Experience in mining, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred
  • Familiarity with MSHA or OSHA safety standards preferred
  • Prior exposure to a Learning Management System (LMS) preferred
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred
  • Experience mentoring or coaching in field environments preferred
  • Familiarity with competency-based training models preferred
  • MSHA Blue Card Certified preferred
