About The Position
The Old Globe, San Diego's largest regional theatre, is seeking an Assistant Technical Director to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in the scenic construction process, where the Assistant Technical Director will collaborate closely with the Technical Director and other Assistant Technical Directors. The primary responsibilities include drafting using AutoCAD, technical design, and project management. The Assistant Technical Director will ensure that all scenic elements are constructed safely and efficiently, contributing to the high-quality productions that The Old Globe is known for. The Old Globe produces over 14 productions annually across three theatres, including two enhanced pre-Broadway musicals. The scene shop is a state-of-the-art facility, spanning 14,000 square feet, equipped with a CNC router and extensive metal-working capabilities. This position offers an excellent opportunity to engage in technical production at the highest level within regional theatre, allowing for professional growth and development in a creative environment.
