Tuckernuck is seeking a passionate, detail-oriented Assistant Technical Designer to join our growing team. This role supports the Technical Design function across multiple product categories, ensuring each garment meets Tuckernuck’s quality, fit, and brand standards. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience in technical design, a strong eye for detail, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

  • Support the Technical Designer throughout all stages of product development, from prototype to production.
  • Attend fittings across multiple product categories; take detailed fit notes and assist in communicating fit comments and pattern corrections.
  • Prepare for fittings by organizing and steaming samples, reviewing prior fit corrections, and photographing garments for reference.
  • Measure garments at all stages (prototype, SMS, TOP) and accurately update technical packs with measurement data.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of detailed CADs and tech packs for development and production.
  • Evaluate prototypes and finished products to ensure alignment with product specifications and Tuckernuck quality standards.
  • Communicate with factories and vendors to track samples, clarify technical details, and ensure timely implementation of corrections.
  • Collaborate with Design, Production, and Product Development teams to ensure designs are executable and meet cost, quality, and fit goals.
  • Stay informed about current garment construction techniques, industry standards, and software tools to support continuous improvement.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Technical Designer, or a similar role preferably in apparel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, and fit.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Excel; familiarity with PLM systems a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
