As an Assistant Team Leader (ATL), you’ll be the co-pilot to the Production Team Leader, helping steer daily operations safely and smoothly. You’ll keep production humming, quality on spec, and associates engaged—all while applying TPS, 5S, JIT, and Lean principles to eliminate waste and boost performance. Think of non-air-conditioned garage mechanic shop: Hot in the summer, cool in the winter Working near aluminum-melting furnaces (100% cotton, long-sleeve clothing required-Uniforms provided) 12 continuously operating machines and furnaces, each powered by three robots Hearing protection required (and provided) Exposure to graphite and hydraulic oil during maintenance and cleaning Safety, cleanliness, and preventive maintenance are always in high gear

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • 3–5 years in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Proven leadership, mentoring, and training abilities
  • Experience with ERP systems, inventory control, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPS, and JIT
  • Strong written and spoken English skills
  • Ability to thrive in a multicultural, team-based environment

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating resources and coaching associates to hit daily production goals
  • Monitoring production flow to meet schedules and customer expectations
  • Performing quality audits and ensuring accurate documentation
  • Applying TPS and Lean tools to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Enforcing standardized work, training, and documentation
  • Supporting preventive maintenance, machine checks, and tool changes
  • Driving kaizen, 5S, and Environmental Compliance Initiatives
  • Training and mentoring new and temporary associates
  • Responding to downtime, faults, and line issues with quick containment support
  • Auditing paperwork (PA sheets, QC check sheets, condition checks, etc.)
  • Promoting safety, PPE compliance, and environmental responsibility
  • Investigating defects and supporting resolution efforts
  • Maintaining open communication across teams and shifts
  • Treating all coworkers with Courtesy, Dignity, and Respect
  • Assisting with startups, audits, sorts, and other assigned duties
