Corrosion Service Teams (CSTs) provide organizational level Corrosion Prevention and Control (CPAC) services as defined by Marine Corps Technical Manual 4795-OR/1A. A valued member of the CST, the CST Assistant Team Lead (ATL) is trained and typically serves as a CST technician. The CST ATL is also trained in all areas of responsibility for the CST Team Lead (TL), when required, assumes those additional responsibilities in the absence of the TL. The job description of a CST ATL involves the management of the CPAC CST program policy, procedures, and personnel assigned to the team, the completion of preventive maintenance, the ability to work well on a team, effectively communicate, and display strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Position Description: A CST ATL inspects, assesses, categorizes, and services military and support equipment utilizing paper and/or electronic checklists. CST ATLs are required to perform surface preparation and touch-up painting, apply corrosion prevention compounds (CPCs), and conduct routine maintenance on application equipment. CST ATLs have a working knowledge of all procedures, responsibilities, and billets within the CST. In the absence of the CST TL or when required, the CST ATL will assume the duties of the CST TL, which includes the management of the CPAC CST program policy, procedures, and personal assigned to the team.
