About The Position

The Assistant Teaching Professor of Flute at Bowling Green State University is a full-time, renewable position focused on teaching and mentoring students in flute performance. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate applied flute, coaching chamber music, and contributing to the artistic and intellectual life of the College of Musical Arts. Requirements

  • MM degree in music or related field.
  • Three years of professional performing and/or teaching experience.
  • Significant performing experience in solo, orchestral, chamber, and contemporary music.

Nice To Haves

  • Earned DMA preferred.
  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate applied flute courses.
  • Coach chamber music ensembles.
  • Teach woodwind repertoire and pedagogy classes.
  • Engage in undergraduate and graduate recruiting and advising.
  • Contribute to the artistic and intellectual life of the College and University.
  • Maintain a current profile in flute performance and pedagogy through state, regional, and national activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chair or Dean.
