About The Position

The College of Health, Education and Social Welfare at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is seeking applicants for an Assistant Teaching Professor position in Nursing & Health Studies. This role is integral to an academic unit that values a team-based approach and innovative teaching methods, aiming to develop students who possess critical thinking skills and can deliver high-quality care. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing UW-Green Bay’s commitment to inclusive teaching and fostering an educational environment that recognizes, encourages, and celebrates diverse identities, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds. This is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track academic year, Instructional Academic Staff appointment. While the primary campus is Green Bay, there may be occasional requirements to teach or work at the Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campuses based on operational needs.

Requirements

  • Earned Master's Degree in Nursing, from an accredited institution prior to start date. Individuals enrolled in an MSN program and completing the final program requirements may be considered
  • 2 years of recent nursing experience
  • Unencumbered Wisconsin Nursing license at time of hire
  • Working knowledge of PC software in a Windows environment
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience, preferably in nursing
  • Recent clinical nursing experience with preference given for experience in medical surgical, maternity, pediatrics, or critical care

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with acute and long-term care healthcare clinical sites
  • Contribute to the ongoing programmatic development of the Nursing & Health Studies programs
  • Facilitate optimal learning through integration of technology and utilization of appropriate delivery methods
  • Implement inclusive instructional strategies to increase support for students from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds at UW Green Bay
  • Teach courses in didactic, skills/simulation, and clinical
  • Advises and mentors students on academic and career direction within a specific field of study
