About The Position

The School of Computing (SoC) at Montclair State University is seeking applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor in Cybersecurity. This position is designed for an individual who is well-versed in Cybersecurity industry standards and certifications and is passionate about teaching various subjects including Linux physical and virtual lab, cloud infrastructure AWS, Cyber threats modelling and analysis, algorithmic thinking, and Cyber Defense and Resiliency. The successful candidate will be expected to support the school in curricular design and teaching activities, focusing on engaging courses that utilize experimental and experiential learning approaches. The role also involves crafting and developing cutting-edge cybersecurity courses relevant to industry standards and certifications such as NSA accreditation, CCNA, CISSP, and SANS. The candidate will lead pedagogical design and instruction related to cybersecurity and cyber resiliency, including designing hands-on labs for penetration testing and offensive and defensive strategies. We are particularly interested in candidates who can bring fresh perspectives to both undergraduate and graduate-level teaching and who are passionate about mentoring students. The position also involves contributing to the development of new programs, including a Cybersecurity certificate, industry-oriented programs, an online master's degree, and a Ph.D. program. The SoC values innovation, creativity, and community engagement, and faculty members are encouraged to conduct research and publish in national and international conferences and journals.
