About The Position

The Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering ( CBE ) at Rutgers University-New Brunswick invites applications for a non-tenure track teaching faculty position in the areas of biomanufacturing and pharmaceutical engineering. This is a long-term, career-oriented position with the possibility of reappointment and promotion through the university’s teaching faculty track. This position aligns with the School of Engineering’s ( SOE ) strategic priority areas in Healthcare Technology and Experiential Learning and Professional Education. We seek a dynamic educator with experience in the biomanufacturing or pharmaceutical industry who is passionate about preparing students for impactful careers and advancing workforce development in these fields. The successful candidate will contribute to CBE’s teaching and experiential learning mission while helping to strengthen the department’s connections with industry. Responsibilities may include teaching graduate and undergraduate chemical engineering courses, developing new courses in biomanufacturing and pharmaceutical engineering, and contributing to the growth of the CBE experiential education program by expanding co-op and internship opportunities, coordinating industry-linked projects, and supporting students’ professional preparation. The faculty member in this position is expected to use evidence-based, student-centered teaching practices and incorporate industry-relevant content to help students build the knowledge and skills needed for professional success. Depending on interests, expertise, and departmental priorities, the role may also involve developing industry-sponsored capstone projects, mentoring students, collaborating on educational grants, and participating in service, recruitment, and outreach activities.
