About The Position

The College of Social Sciences and Humanities and its ten tenure units are the home of the Experiential Liberal Arts. Successful faculty in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities will be dynamic and innovative scholars with a record of research and teaching excellence. Strong candidates for this position will have the expertise, knowledge, and skills to build their research, pedagogy, and curriculum in ways that reflect and enhance this commitment. Grounded in social justice, the Human Services Program is a dynamic undergraduate program that prepares students for careers in social change. Human service students engage in local, national and international practice and policy. Human service courses provide foundational learning to examine the development of social problems and innovative solutions. The Human Services Program is housed in the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs, within the College of Social Sciences and Humanities. We seek to fill a full-time non-tenure track job opening for an Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Full Teaching Professor. This is an academic year teaching faculty position with opportunities for promotion through an established track from Assistant Teaching Professor to Associate Teaching Professor to Full Teaching Professor. Reappointment letters are issued prior to July 1 of the applicable year. The appointment will be on Northeastern’s Boston campus to begin in spring or fall semester 2026.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or clinical doctorate (DSW, PsyD, etc.) in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related fields in hand by the employment start date
