About The Position

The Learning Experience – Gurnee is seeking a dependable Part-Time Assistant Teacher to support classrooms during our busy morning arrival period. This role helps ensure a smooth start to each child’s day while maintaining safe ratios and a welcoming environment for families. This position is ideal for someone looking for consistent morning hours in a supportive early childhood setting. Additional hours may be available if desired, including occasional closing support.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting preferred
• Reliable, flexible, and team-oriented
• Must meet Illinois childcare licensing requirements

Nice To Haves

• ECE coursework or CDA a plus

Responsibilities

• Support teachers during morning arrival and transitions
• Help maintain safe classroom ratios across infant, toddler, and preschool rooms
• Assist with breakfast routines, classroom setup, and early learning activities
• Create a warm, welcoming experience for children and families at drop-off
• Help maintain clean, organized classrooms
