About The Position

As an Assistant Teacher, your dedication to program development and exceptional ability to communicate, guide and work with children offers invaluable support to the teacher, making you an invaluable resource. STATUS: Full-Time LOCATION: Park Ridge Child Care Center DEPARTMENT: Child Care SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday- 6.30 am -3 pm or 8 am -5 pm

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent OR One (1) year of experience working with children less than 13 years.

Responsibilities

Assists the teacher in providing a developmentally appropriate program for all of the children.
Assists in creating an environment that supports children's growth and development.
Develops and maintains a positive relationship with all of the children and their families.
Effectively guides children's behavior in an age appropriate and positive manner.
Constructively participates in staff meetings and attends meetings with supervisor.
Meets the physical, social, cognitive, emotional and cultural needs of individual children.
Attends a minimum of 15 hours of training every year.
Communicates appropriately with families regarding children's daily activities both verbally and written as needed.
Ensures the safety of the children and promotes good health habits.
Works toward achievement of classroom’s annual goals.
Works with colleagues and community representatives to support children and families.
