About The Position

As an Assistant Teacher at Primrose School of Gainesville, you will help foster a fun, safe environment with a daily schedule designed to develop children's confidence and independence. You will guide children through small group instruction, helping them absorb new content and understand increasingly complex information. The role involves planning and implementing an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach. Primrose School of Gainesville is an accredited private preschool offering year-round programs for children from infant through elementary-aged school age, dedicated to forging a brighter future for all children.

Requirements

• Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
• For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib

Nice To Haves

• Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children

Responsibilities

• Help guide children through small group instruction as they grow their ability to absorb new content and understand increasingly complex information
• Help plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach to teaching and learning
• Build genuine relationships with each child
• Help children learn about language and literacy, science, life skills, and more
• Assist in implementing the lesson plans from the research-informed Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum and programming
• Maintain a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence
• Discover what works best for each child as you teach them about the world around them
