Join our team and change lives! Amego School is searching for energetic and passionate Assistant Teachers! The assistant teacher’s primary duties are to ensure the safety and well-being of students with autism, as well as implement educational and behavior programming as directed by the head teacher and BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). Assistant teachers work directly with and teach students in a 1 on 1 and/or a 1 on 2 teacher to student ratio. The needs of our students demand a team-driven approach and a positive outlook. Requirements

  • HS Diploma
  • Driver's License
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in educational, residential, or clinical settings.
  • Ability to implement behavioral support strategies and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide educational opportunities with the firm belief that everyone is capable of learning.
  • Teach students as directed by the head teacher.
  • Follow student behavior plans as directed by the BCBA.
  • Reporting to residential group home work sites multiple days per week to assist students in preparing for school.
  • Assisting students with toileting and showering as needed.
  • Performing physical management strategies (including physical restraints) to keep students and others safe from challenging behaviors.
  • Observe and safeguard student rights as mandated reporters.
  • Participate in the general upkeep of the school and residential group homes.
  • Write incident reports as necessary and to company standards
