About The Position

The Assistant Teacher is a part-time position with duties both indoors and outdoors. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for a group of children that may include infants, toddlers, preschool or Kindergarten age children. The Assistant Teacher must be available to attend staff meeting, trainings, evaluations, and orientations, fulfill the annual 15 clock hours of continuing education, and participate in parent conferences and/or prepare written parent reports. The Assistant Teacher will plan and execute a program for families at least once a year and/or participate in the annual open house. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Assistant Teacher will work with a Lead Teacher and together as a team plan age-appropriate activities: music/ movement activities; art/ craft projects; language; math; and science experiences. When incorporating the curriculum, it is essential that planning implements a variety of supervised activities for the children in a relaxed but organized atmosphere. The Assistant Teacher will utilize all available resources of Little People Playtime and its staff to ensure a smooth and effective delivery of services and will carry out the established policies of Little People Playtime. The Assistant Teacher respects and maintains confidentiality of all information received in connection with this position. We are specifically looking for candidates that have availability Monday through Friday between 2:00pm and 5:30pm. Approximately 15-19 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalency (GED).
