About The Position

Hiring Assistant Teachers for Lake Area Discovery Center. Positions are Part-Time, Year-Round, with 64 hours of PTO (prorated), eight paid Holidays, and paid training and continuing education. Hourly Rate of $18.00-$22.00/hour, depending on education and experience. Hours for this position are approximately 7AM -2:30PM. The Lake Area Discovery Center serves children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old, as well as pre-kindergarten students. Partnering with ministry and education programs, LADC offers rich educational and faith formation experiences. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development coursework preferred; willingness to pursue additional education required for advancement
  • Previous experience working with young children preferred
  • Experience in a classroom, childcare center, church education program, or similar setting beneficial
  • Ability to assist with supervising children throughout the day, including activities, playtime, transitions, meals, and snacks
  • Ability to support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and learning activities
  • Ability to assist with classroom management and help maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, coworkers, and families
  • Patient, positive attitude with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to follow program philosophy and align with Lake Area Discovery Center’s mission and values
  • CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain shortly after hire
  • Willingness to complete required health and safety training for child care professionals
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and child abuse registry check
  • Ability to actively engage with young children, including sitting, standing, bending, and lifting up to approximately 40 pounds
