About The Position
The Goddard School located at 307 E 63rd street is a brand-new center seeking motivated and caring schoolwide assistant teachers for our school, which will serve children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years old Our two-story, 15,000 sq. ft. center will be home to clean, bright, and spacious classrooms, two well-equipped multi-purpose rooms, and much more, all built from the ground up to foster children's natural curiosity through play-based activities, encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, and a lifelong love of learning. Requirements
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
- Shows empathy and compassion for young children
- Works productively without supervision
- Basic understanding of child development
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
- Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions
- Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment
- Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging
- Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment
- Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment

- Twenty-Seven (27) paid personal days per year as follows:
- Ten (10) paid personal days per calendar year
- Five (5) paid personal days between Christmas and New Year's Day when the school is closed
- Seven (7) paid holidays per calendar year.
