About The Position

Assistant Teacher-Manton 2 Duties/Responsibilities: Promote school readiness by enhancing children's social, cognitive, and overall development through educational, health, nutritional, and social services. Comply with Head Start Program Performance Standards, the Head Start Act, 5-Year Grant, MiLeap-Child Care Licensing Bureau, USDA-CACFP Requirements, Great Start Readiness Implementation Manual, NMCAA Personnel Policies, and other relevant guidelines. Follow agency processes, policies, procedures, and guidance. Adhere to the Child Protection Law, Staff and Volunteer Mandated Reporting Policy, NMCAA's Early Childhood Guidance Policy and Code of Conduct. Provide a developmentally appropriate classroom environment using Creative Curriculum, School Readiness Goals, and Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS), and conduct child developmental screenings and GOLD assessments. Provide a developmentally appropriate classroom environment using Creative Curriculum, School Readiness Goals, and Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS), and conduct child developmental screenings and GOLD assessments. Be present during core hours with children and adapt to flexible schedules to meet family and team needs. Ensure a safe, healthy, and organized environment. Implement emergency procedures. Utilize Active Supervision practices. Follow policies on health care needs, food allergies, medication administration, and authorized adult releasese

Requirements

  • Have a child development associate (CDA) credential or a state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential
  • are enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate or baccalaureate degree in ECE or CD; or,
  • are enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years of the time of hire.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance is required.
  • Pass a comprehensive background check-CCLB.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Meet OHS health requirements-Medical Clearance and TB Screener.
  • Obtain CPR/First Aid Certification.
