About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting with the care and needs of each student in charge; spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Additionally, this person is responsible for assisting the teacher in creating an environment that is safe, organized, and effective for learning and growth. The Assistant Teacher is also responsible for maintaining a class environment and student/teacher interactions that are consistent with all Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Minimum Standards guidelines.

Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent
Child Development Associate Credential preferred
Ability to complete 12 hours of pre-service training and additional 12 hours annual training in best practices and pedagogical skills
Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification
One year of daycare experience preferred
Must demonstrate and maintain a working knowledge of the State Minimum Standards as outlined by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services
Must possess innovative and creative thinking for curriculum implementation, lesson planning, and parent-communications
Must demonstrate a clear passion for and calling to early childhood education
Must be able to maintain professional relationships with leadership, team members, and parents
Must demonstrate a working knowledge of the mission, vision, and purpose of Kenneth Copeland Ministries and Eagle Mountain International Church
Must be 18 years or older
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Able to pull, push, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, move, carry children and equipment
Requires normal range of hearing and vision
Maintain a good attendance record
Able to give and receive information, prepare written materials and articulate goals and action plans
Understand vague and implicit instructions
Be detailed, organized and communicative
Task and goal oriented
Able to multi-task
Able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions
Possess excellent interpersonal skills and react favorably in all work situations
Be creative and innovative
Able to manage time efficiently
Born again believer and must adhere to the doctrines of this organization as upheld by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and their appointed representatives
Works well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17, not causing dissension, difficulties and divisions

Responsibilities

Must supervise children at all times
Develop students emotionally, spiritually, physically and socially
Must be able to focus on the individual needs of each student while maintaining an overall atmosphere of learning and growth for the entire class
Teach children social skills by modeling and nurturing good judgment and self-control
Teach age-appropriate academic curriculum and encourage learning through play and interaction
Maintain a clean and healthy learning environment, free of messes, clutter and hazardous objects
Ensure that classroom appearance and environment reflect a standard of excellence
Maintain training and certifications consistent with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Minimum Standards’ requirements
When necessary, act as a liaison between parents and lead teacher
Participate actively in field trips and on-site excursions ensuring a safe and engaging experience for children in care
