The standard shift for this position is 12:00 PM–6:30 PM. Our location is easily accessible via the PATH and Light Rail.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; associate degree in education or related field, or a CDA, preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a child care setting
- Ability to relate positively to young children, parents, and staff
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet program needs
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical activities such as walking, squatting/kneeling, sitting on the floor, and interacting with children to ensure their health and safety
- Technologically literate, with the ability to use, manage, understand, and assess technology
- Must be willing to work flexible hours

Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing activities that support the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of students
- Help develop culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate programs and activities
- Establish consistent routines and procedures for daily learning and play experiences
- Supervise students in the classroom to ensure safety and engagement
- Collaborate with the Head Teacher to create routines and provide positive behavioral guidance
- Communicate clearly and effectively in a way that children can understand
- Communicate with parents as needed regarding student behavior—both positive and negative—with Head Teacher approval
- Collaborate regularly with the Head Teacher to prepare weekly plans and activities
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Head Teacher or Director
