About The Position

The Learning Experience – Sterling is seeking a reliable and energetic Assistant Teacher / Floater to support our Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classrooms. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, flexibility, and working with children of different ages in a high-quality daycare and preschool environment. As a floater, you will help keep the center running smoothly by supporting classrooms as needed and providing consistent, nurturing care throughout the day.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous childcare experience is required
• Must meet all Virginia childcare licensing requirements

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood setting strongly preferred
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Reliable, flexible, and comfortable working in multiple classrooms

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers in maintaining safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classrooms
• Step into Infant, Toddler, and Preschool rooms as needed to support staffing and daily flow
• Assist with daily routines including meals, diapering/toileting, transitions, nap time, and activities
• Engage children in play-based learning, sensory activities, and group experiences
• Help maintain clean, organized, and welcoming classrooms
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
• Follow all Virginia childcare licensing and safety requirements
