About The Position

Under the supervision of the Primary Caregiver, assistant teachers help plan the day for infants and implement, on a daily basis, a plan for learning relevant to the needs, abilities and interests of the children. Caregivers develop a relationship of trust through caregiving routines which support children's social, emotional, cognitive, physical and language skills.

Requirements

• Ability to work effectively as a member of a child development team
• Thorough understanding of child development and early childhood education
• Ability to work with a culturally diverse community
• Ability to relate to children as individuals in small and large groups
• Ability to plan, organize and direct a developmental and instructional program
• Familiarity with federal and state health safety regulations
• Knowledge of NAEYC Accreditation Criteria
• Effective communication skills with children and adults
• 3 units of Infant Toddler coursework
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications/cards
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent to a minimum of 2 years working in a center-based environment
• Associate Teacher Permit or higher

• 6 or more units of Infant Toddler coursework
