About The Position

The Pulaski County Parks and Recreation Department is seeking to fill a seasonal/temporary part-time Assistant Swim Coach position. This position supports the Head Swim Coach in leading the Randolph Park Riptides summer swim team. The Assistant Swim Coach assists with daily practices, swim meets, and team events, providing instruction to improve swimmers' technique, endurance, and confidence. They encourage teamwork, participation, and positive attitudes among team members. This position supports safety enforcement, communicates with swimmers and parents, and assists with setup and cleanup. The position reports to the Program and Activities Manager. Important Note: Please be advised that the anticipated start date for this position is mid-May 2026. Work hours are weekday, weekend, evening, and some holiday work may be required. Must be available for practices, meets, and team events throughout the season (typically mid-May through mid-July). Some overtime and evening work may be required. The hourly range for this position is $18 - $20 and is commensurate upon education and experience. Educational Requirements: Prior swim team experience preferred (as a participant, coach, or instructor). Current CPR and First Aid Certification is preferred Lifeguard Certification, Water Safety Instructor preferred. Age Requirement: Individual must be at least 16 years of age.
