About The Position

Supports all aspects of the Supervisors and production to help reach goals of quality and efficiency. Works in corporation with all departments and teams to operate equipment and produce quality products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One (1) to two (2) years production/supervision preferred.
  • Strong leadership, self-motivation and leadership skills.
  • Organized, responsible, punctual and self-disciplined.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of QA manual.
  • Ability to handle conflicts appropriately and notifying the supervisor and management.
  • Always maintains a professional appearance and a professional demeanor.
  • Works with Engineering on samples and provides feedback on masters, orders of operation and machinery.
  • Ability to provide good oral and written communication.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and perform accurately.
  • Ability to move successfully from one task to another.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of math and reading skills.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of hand tools, machine functions, and test gauges in their department.
  • Ability to recognize when problems arise and provide ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Able to read BOM and job packets correctly.
  • Ability to use measuring devices to assure product conformance.
  • Ability to meet and exceed labor standards.
  • Ability to recognize raw material problems.
  • Dexterity in using hand tools.
  • Close visual work on computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate 50% of the time via telephone, e-mail or in person to internal and external customers.
  • Frequently moves about the production floor and facility walking, bending, stooping, standing, sitting, and reaching.
  • Able to remain in a stationary position standing and sitting 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries objects about the facility up to 35 lbs. with proper equipment.
  • Exposed to shop elements such as noise, odors, and fumes.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a positive role model consistent with Polo’s corporate culture at all times.
  • Assists with monitoring daily work schedules to meet established customer delivery.
  • Provides feedback for new associates and annual reviews.
  • Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety, paperwork, housekeeping of the area and meeting production quality and quantity.
  • Conducts team meetings as needed, to review safety, quality and operational or management concerns.
  • Prepares, reviews, and completes job packets.
  • Handles the set-up of lines and provides production technicians with appropriate shop aids.
  • Works with supervisors and management to resolve any production issues.
  • Provides accurate information to supervisors, managers, and any applicable production technicians.
  • Able to identify and manage a nonconforming finished good.
  • Stays up to date with QA manual. Insures continued level of quality according to first article, and quarantines questionable parts for review.
  • Assist in documenting training records for new and existing associates for the Training Administrator.
  • Provides positive attitude for team environment.
  • Produces quality products on time.
  • Interacts well with others and is a strong team player.
  • Ability to sign off on pre-production samples for associates.
  • Ensures that team members are aware of and are following all established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Ensures that all necessary information is filled out correctly and sign offs are completed on BOMS.
  • Monitor new and existing associates' progress and make recommendations on how to build the product more efficiently while maintaining quality.
  • Responsible for all process, equipment, associate safety, and housekeeping of the area meeting production quality and quantity on the shift.
  • Responsible for line clearance and supplying the production line with the correctly labeled materials supplied from the warehouse and/or a different department, if applicable.
  • Handles returns to the warehouse and rejected material from the production line prior to job completion.
