About The Position

Hope Network’s Neurological Rehabilitation department provides a supportive residential setting for patients recovering from brain or spinal cord injuries, enabling them to focus on their recovery goals. The Assistant Supervisor primary responsibilities include: Provides oversight, support and care for consumers of Hope Network’s service in a variety of settings; Role model appropriate behavior and skills to consumers to help them achieve their highest level of independence; Use a consumer’s prescribed plan(s) in support of their medical, clinical, therapeutic and behavioral needs. Provide leadership and direction to the Independent Living Instructors and the Lead Independent Living Instructors as appropriate and when the Residential Supervisor is not present. Facilitate consumer’s medical appointments, distribute medication scripts and update appropriate medical/ medication paperwork.

Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred in a medical or related field, with three years of relevant leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills to respond appropriately to medical and behavioral needs.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to make independent decisions.
  • Ability to train, orient, and mentor staff effectively.
  • Strong initiative and follow-through in responding to service issues with consumers, families, or guardians.
  • Current, valid state driver’s license and acceptable driving record per Hope Network policy.

Nice To Haves

  • At least two years of experience working in a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) or related neuro-rehabilitation setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight, support, and direct care to consumers & colleagues across a variety of settings.
  • Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviors and life skills to help consumers achieve their highest level of independence.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Rehabilitation Technicians and Lead Rehabilitation Technicians, particularly when the Residential Supervisor is not present.
  • Facilitate consumer medical appointments, distribute medication, and maintain accurate medical and medication documentation.
  • Follow each consumer’s prescribed plan(s) to support their medical, clinical, therapeutic, and behavioral needs.
  • Assist with intake packet completion for new consumers, ensuring all information is accurate and complete, and distribute to appropriate team members.
  • Support the Residential Supervisor in maintaining accurate program documentation, including: Health and medical records, including Medication Administration Records (MARs) Portable medical profiles Home and community-based support system assessments Physician prescriptions in line with program policy Consumer emergency/medical information in the on-call book
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as assigned.
  • Promote teamwork, communication, and a positive environment for both staff and consumers.
