About The Position

What you get to do: This role will lead all aspects of daily operations within one or more of the following Entertainment Operations work groups (stage, performance operations, costume characters, audio, video, lighting, and stagehands). You will: Coach, mentor, direct, evaluate, and schedule staff Lead the interview and orientation process of new ambassadors Lead training and development of new and existing ambassadors Write evaluations and assist in the development of ambassadors Review the annual performance appraisal with ambassadors Work with show producer and performance operations to maintain show standards Maintain area labor and expense budgets Produce and maintain accurate documentation Maintain a safe work environment and safety requirements Maintain cleanliness of all assigned work areas Maintain, uphold and respect all ambassador confidentiality and leadership issues Ensure excellence in customer service by responding to customer requirements, expectations and needs. Maintain a positive and flexible attitude Model company trainings related to guest interactions and animal areas Occasionally may assist other locations and areas throughout the park as needed Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests Perform other duties as assigned What it takes to succeed: At least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent, required At least one year of professional or college-level experience in one of the following areas: theme park, stage, or live audio, film production, etc., required At least six months previous experience in leadership related role, preferred One year of theme park related experience, preferred Possession of a valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain a company driver’s license Ability to meet company driving guidelines Proficient knowledge in one or more areas of theater craft (i.e., dance, performance arts/gymnastics and stage manager, etc.) and/or proficient knowledge in one or more areas of technical theater or live media productions (audio, video, lighting and stagehand) Strong presentation skills including the ability to speak clearly and comfortably in front of large groups and in different environments; including, but not limited to, training classes Able to positively interact with guests and co-workers of all ages, different ethnic/cultural backgrounds and/or language, and individuals with special needs Proficient written and verbal communication skills Have working knowledge of computer-based resources such as Microsoft Office Working knowledge of park related programs. (i.e. Kronos, SAP, and Concur), preferred Able to complete assigned projects in a timely and professional manner Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain a positive and flexible attitude in an ever-changing and fast-paced work environment Proficient organization and planning skills Be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing) Be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Dancers - Demonstrate technical proficiency in a variety of styles including jazz, musical theatre, ballet, and modern. Partnering skills, break dancing, tumbling, tap, or other specialties are a plus. Dancers perform in multiple high-energy shows per day to connect with our guests and create memories that last a lifetime. Event Performers - Bring our special and seasonal events to life such as Event Host, Culinary Performers and Santa's Helpers. Instrumentalists - Proficient in percussion, brass, woodwinds or guitar. All instrumentalists should have the ability to play varying styles ranging from pop/rock to Motown to gospel and must be able to memorize music for shows and perform with great stage presence. Scare Squad - Enthusiastic performers, who are passionate about Halloween, to add fun and scary excitement to our award-winning Howl-O-Scream events. Vocalists - Great energy and stage presence who can demonstrate technical proficiency in a variety of styles including pop, rock, musical theatre, classical, contemporary, and a cappella vocal styling. Capacity to hear/sing harmonies is a must. Sight reading skills are not required but are preferred. Vocalists perform in multiple high-energy shows per day to connect with our guests and create memories that last a lifetime. How should I prepare for my audition? You will be asked to learn a dance combination and participate in improve and athletic stamina exercises. Costumed character auditions are based primarily on movement, non-verbal communication, and physical coordination. Please arrive early enough to stretch and warm up before the audition begins. Please wear form fitting dance attire that allows a full range of movement and tennis or jazz shoes. Please do not wear jeans.
