About The Position

The position involves assisting with the day-to-day supervisory responsibilities for clinical office staff, providing clerical and clinical support for the department or division. The role includes ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining equipment, managing supplies, and supporting the hiring and orientation of new staff. Additional duties include preparing schedules, conducting literature searches, arranging meetings, performing secretarial tasks, and scheduling patient appointments as needed. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.
  • Medical Assistant certification/registration-eligible graduate or scheduled to graduate from an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Ability to show proof of Medical Assistant registration/certification or complete it within six months of hire date.
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
  • 3 years of work experience in a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with supervisory clerical/clinical staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adequate coverage.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained adequately.
  • Request and monitor medical and clerical supplies.
  • Assist with interviewing, screening applicants, and orienting new staff.
  • Prepare various schedules and conduct literature searches.
  • Request journal articles and retrieve books for physicians.
  • Arrange meetings and assist with maintaining office policies.
  • Perform secretarial duties such as typing, medical transcription, filing, and routing telephone calls.
  • Schedule patient appointments when needed.
  • Assist with budgets or reporting.
  • Assist with evaluations, recommendations, and disciplinary actions for supervised personnel.
