About The Position

The Assistant Supervisor is a member of the Manufacturing Leadership Team reporting directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor or Superintendent. They provide direct support to manufacturing to ensure that products meet the required specifications by coordinating activities of employees who perform in the manufacturing areas. The Assistant Supervisor provides decision-making and oversight to ensure compliance to all regulatory agency regulations and guidelines and to Baxter Standard Operating Procedures. This position fully supports and drives quality operations on the production floor and communicates effectively with production team members, multiple levels of management, and other support departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 6 months Manufacturing experience / leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of cGMP manufacturing preferred.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability to use enterprise software (examples include: JDE, BPLM, POMs, Maximo etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Delegate, coordinate, and schedule activities of assigned employees.
  • Promote a safe work environment and train and mentor other employees.
  • Troubleshoot process problems and respond to process alarms.
  • Assist in developing/reviewing batch records.
  • Assist in establishing and orienting new projects and Lean initiatives for production.
  • Participate in daily tier meetings and review and execute process improvement activities.
  • Document tasks per Good Documentation Practices requirements.
  • Organize and coordinate general cleaning and sanitizations throughout assigned area per Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Review documents/processes (SOP's, JIBs, equipment, methods, etc.) to prevent errors and/or recognize unexpected results.
