About The Position

The position involves planning, managing, and overseeing construction activities on various projects. The candidate will proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure smooth project execution while prioritizing safety through established protocols, safety meetings, and incident response. The role requires ensuring high-quality installations to prevent rework and contribute to overall quality control. Collaboration in preinstallation coordination and enforcement of quality expectations is essential. The candidate will manage schedules, drive adherence to timelines, and monitor budgets, while also understanding construction principles to drive productivity. Mentoring and training team members with a focus on development is a key responsibility. The role includes handling submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals, studying contract documents, and coordinating trades effectively. Additionally, the candidate will manage material coding and financial documentation, generate Requests for Information (RFIs) as needed, lead sections of crucial meetings, and coordinate on-site logistics. Maintaining clean work areas, preparing daily reports, and addressing extra work requests are also part of the job. The candidate is expected to set an example for work ethic, safety, and adherence to company policies, while reviewing and comprehending budget and labor reports. Upholding company safety standards and reporting accidents is crucial, as is fostering relationships with trade partners and project teams.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years Assistant Superintendent experience in Commercial Construction.
  • Strong conflict management skills.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, clients, co-workers, and management team.

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or related field is preferred.
