About The Position

The Assistant Superintendent will assist the Project Superintendent in directing the activities of workers and subcontractors on disaster recovery and debris removal projects. This role involves planning, scheduling, and coordinating various phases of work to ensure timely completion and adherence to contract terms.

Requirements

• Enrolled as a Junior or Senior in an Emergency Management Bachelor's degree program.
• 2+ years of experience in a Superintendent or similar role in field/disaster recovery and/or construction.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word, and Access.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Superintendent in directing activities of workers and subcontractors on projects.
• Study contracts to plan procedures and make recommendations on start and completion times and staffing requirements.
• Maintain schedules and site mapping based on Project Superintendent direction.
• Facilitate procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
• Confer with and direct personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures on-site.
• Resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce by conferring with supervisory personnel and labor representatives.
• Inspect work for adherence to contract terms and schedules.
• Prepare or review daily reports on progress, materials/labor, debris hauled, and costs, adjusting work schedules as needed.
