About The Position

An entry to intermediate level management position that reports to the Senior Assistant Superintendent and or Superintendent. This role focuses on hands-on field leadership, daily maintenance execution, and crew supervision while supporting long-term agronomic, operational, and presentation standards.

Requirements

Associate or bachelor’s degree or certificate in turfgrass management, agronomy, horticulture, or related field preferred
One to three years of golf course maintenance or turf management experience
Valid pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain within required timeframe
Strong work ethic with a hands-on leadership approach
Ability to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with a diverse team
Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required

Responsibilities

Assist with daily golf course maintenance operations including greens, tees, fairways, rough, bunkers, and practice facilities
Supervise and lead maintenance staff during assigned shifts, including training, task assignment, and quality control
Execute mowing, cultivation, spraying, irrigation, and cultural practices in accordance with agronomic plans
Monitor turf conditions and communicate issues related to turf health, playability, and safety
Assist with irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and minor repairs
Safely operate and oversee the use of golf course maintenance equipment
Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA standards, and company procedures
Assist with chemical and fertilizer applications, including calibration, record keeping, and inventory control
Support course setup for daily play, tournaments, and special events
Maintain accurate records related to labor, applications, and maintenance activities
Serve as a key point of contact during assigned weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations
