The Rockwood School District is seeking an outstanding administrator for the position of Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the district's curriculum, instructional, assessment practices, and professional learning from the classroom to the district level Collaborate with the district leadership, teachers, and principals to plan, implement, and evaluate the essential elements of instructional programs including learning objectives, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques to maximize student achievement Evaluate and review the performance of the directors of Curriculum and Professional Learning, Research, Evaluation and Assessment, and the Coordinator of Parents In Education (PIE) Provide leadership for instructional research, instruction, and technology in the classroom Collaborate with the Superintendent of Schools and the superintendent's cabinet on long-term strategic planning to ensure the district defines a vision for its educational programs and implements goals needed to realize that vision Provide leadership and management of the creation and implementation of District Comprehensive School Improvement Plans, Building School Improvement Plans, Key Goals, and related MSIP Standards Responsible for submission of MSIP materials to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Facilitate effective communication and consultation with the Board of Education regarding curriculum development and adoption decisions Evaluate, develop, and coordinate goals and objectives for district educational and improvement programs Oversee the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) process Oversee the evaluation, development, selection, publication, and implementation of instructional materials and technology Oversee department budgets and monitor the implementation of approved budget including supplies, materials, and technology Oversee the recommendation to the Assistant Superintendent Supervision of Secondary Education and the Board of Education for addition of new courses, the grade placement of courses, the designation of courses for honors or challenge credit, and the setting of district graduation requirements Oversee the establishment of the test schedules and procedures for the administration of all tests, and collects, interprets data, analysis, and reporting of results of test data and process for research within the district Oversee the development of the program evaluation procedures and implementation process Stays current on developments in education in order to provide leadership to improve student learning and positive climate within schools Design and maintain a positive, collaborative culture Lead continuous improvement efforts including the establishment of data priorities to raise student achievement
