Stoa Construction is seeking a full-time Assistant Superintendent in Columbia, South Carolina. The Assistant Superintendent will primarily be responsible for the successful execution of site-specific duties to ensure successful project completion for large ground-up multifamily projects. Requirements

  • 2-5+ years of experience in field operations (residential or commercial)
  • Previous experience and knowledge of construction worksite safety practices and procedures
  • Experience and knowledge of OSHA and other applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations and standards
  • Coordinate, assist and communicate with Project Management Team to help the overall success of the project.
  • Ability to plan, organize, review and document a wide range of project activities with good follow-through
  • Ability to adapt as needed to meet construction deadlines
  • Ability to make logical decisions
  • Direct field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule and within budget with quality workmanship that conforms to the plans and specifications.
  • Sound judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills
  • The position is often exposed to various weather conditions (especially heat), loud noise, and vibrations
  • The position requires the employee to have reliable transportation and travel to different locations within an assigned area
  • Will be situations involving standing, bending, stooping, some climbing or balancing, and carrying

Responsibilities

  • Assist Superintendent in performing their day-to-day operations of multifamily construction
  • Work on punch lists
  • Ensure safety and quality regulations are followed
  • Communicate project progress with management
  • Receive deliveries
  • Assist Superintendent in coordinating with subcontractors
  • Maintain cleanliness of job sites
