About The Position

Hunting Creek Country Club in Prospect, KY is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Assistant Superintendent. Since 1964, Hunting Creek Country Club has been known for its congeniality as well as its gorgeous golf course, nestled among the rolling hills of historic Prospect, Kentucky, just outside of Louisville. General Purpose: Oversees the maintenance and construction of the golf course (or courses) and ensures that turf grass is repaired and maintained to established standards.

Requirements

• A degree in agronomy, horticulture, turfgrass science, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience is acceptable.
• 3-5 years of turf management experience is preferred, with private club or resort experience being a plus.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Pesticide Application License or the ability to obtain one is necessary.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential.
• Proficiency of Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Assist the Golf Course Superintendent with all aspects of daily course maintenance.
• Manage and lead grounds crew members, including assigning tasks, training, and conducting performance reviews.
• Oversee irrigation systems, including repairs, and manage water usage.
• Be responsible for pest and disease control on the course.
• Monitor equipment, fuel, and chemical inventories.
• Support the planning and execution of course construction or renovation projects.
• Represent the club as a manager in the Superintendent's absence.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
