About The Position

As an Assistant Superintendent at ADM, you will help lead the daily operations of a grain elevator and play a key role in keeping products moving safely and efficiently through the supply chain. You’ll work closely with the Superintendent to support operations like loading, unloading, grading, and storing grain, while also leading and developing a team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll spend time both in the facility and working alongside employees to solve problems, improve processes, and keep operations running smoothly. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years’ experience leading, training, or supporting a team in an operations, agriculture, or industrial environment
  • Ability to work with basic computer systems such as email and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of team members

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in grain handling, agriculture, or a similar industry
  • Experience supporting maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, or improving operational processes
  • A degree in agriculture, operations, engineering, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day elevator operations, including grain handling, storage, and transfer activities
  • Plan and prioritize daily work while assigning tasks based on team strengths and operational needs
  • Lead with safety by following regulations and addressing potential hazards to protect people, product, and the environment
  • Build a strong team by training, coaching, and supporting employee development
  • Maintain open communication with employees, address concerns, and help create a positive work environment
  • Troubleshoot equipment and support maintenance efforts to reduce downtime and improve reliability
  • Partner with facility leadership to improve efficiency, safety, and overall performance
  • Support preventive maintenance programs, inspections, and repair planning
  • Ensure work is completed in line with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation and identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs
