About The Position

As an Assistant Superintendent, you’ll support the Superintendent and Project Manager in providing direction and oversight of work performed by crews and subcontractors. You’ll help maintain jobsite safety, enforce QA/QC standards, track schedule progress, and coordinate day-to-day site activities. This position is a key leadership role in the field and requires strong communication, organization, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Proficient with computers/tablets
  • Working knowledge of building codes and modern building science
  • Ability to perform tasks with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong willingness to learn, grow, and take feedback

Nice To Haves

  • 2–5 years experience with a degree or 5+ years experience without a degree
  • Background working with a General Contractor
  • Experience as a Project Engineer
  • Multi-family housing experience
  • Proficient with Procore
  • Proficient with construction scheduling software
  • OSHA 30 certification

Responsibilities

  • Support preconstruction efforts when field-focused input is needed
  • Assist the Superintendent in maintaining and driving weekly schedule paths
  • Coordinate and track design changes, schedule/performance issues, deliveries, and supplier materials
  • Maintain safe, neat, and orderly site conditions at all times
  • Monitor adherence to OSHA and NWBC safety policies; support incident investigations and documentation
  • Use Procore to document field observations, enforce QA/QC standards, and drive corrective actions to prevent warranty/workmanship issues
  • Help troubleshoot constructability issues with the Superintendent and trade partners
  • Distribute RFIs and confirm work meets contract requirements
  • Complete daily reports in Procore and distribute to the project team (becomes part of closeout documentation)
  • Support project commissioning and closeout while maintaining strong client relationships
  • Track tools and equipment inventory/maintenance; communicate needs/issues to the Superintendent
  • Work with and mentor the self-perform field team
  • Assist with shop drawing processing and field verification as needed
  • Perform limited carpentry tasks based on project needs, schedule, and skillset
  • Comply with all applicable safety rules and local/state/federal regulations
