We are especially interested in candidates based near Indianapolis, Indiana, who are passionate about building and strengthening their local community. We have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Assistant Superintendent to help lead and manage large-scale construction projects. This includes overseeing the entire project lifecycle from feasibility to completion, developing project strategies, plans, and budgets, and assembling qualified project teams. The role also involves scheduling, coordinating, and supervising craft employee activities, which may include supervising various trade groups (electricians, boilermakers, and carpenters) in different construction disciplines such as, civil, structural, electrical. Walbridge is looking for Assistant Superintendents that know how to and love to build!

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five (5) + years supervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, commercial or industrial projects.
  • Experience working on Commercial or Industrial projects with budgets of at least $15M.
  • A valid driver’s license in the US and a valid passport required; willingness and ability to travel; travel is estimated at 70+%.

  • Experience supervising, motivating and mentoring cross-functional teams.
  • Successful background maintaining high safety standards and delivering quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise construction activities, including determining methods, manpower, materials, equipment, and schedules.
  • Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedules.
  • Coordinate work with different crafts, departments, or contractors.
  • Resolve construction problems and maintain communication with unions.
  • Monitor compliance with safety programs and document corrective measures.
  • Ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support project schedules.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, clients, and vendors, to ensure alignment and address any concerns.
  • Track project progress through metrics and reporting, adjusting plans as necessary to meet changing requirements or challenges.
  • Ensure that all deliverables meet the required quality standards and compliance regulations.
  • Continuously seek ways to optimize processes and improve project outcomes through innovative technologies or methodologies.
