About The Position

The Assistant Superintendent at D.R. Horton, Inc. plays a crucial role in managing the community job site related to home construction. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Six months to 2 years of related experience.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to drive among construction sites.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to read plans and construction documents.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and create a systematic approach to assignments.
  • Ability to converse with customers and all levels of management.
  • Proficiency with DRH Construction applications and MS Office.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect each home daily to assure the quality of workmanship and compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Schedule and walk all inspections with inspectors.
  • Walk each completed home before the homeowner walk-through to ensure it meets quality standards.
  • Conduct homeowner orientation and additional walks to ensure homeowner satisfaction.
  • Aid the Superintendent in managing subcontractors and evaluating their performance on quality, safety, and cost control.
  • Enforce the site safety program and ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards on job sites and communities.
  • Assist in managing construction materials to prevent damage, waste, and theft.
  • Support the construction schedule to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
  • Provide superior customer service during all phases of construction.
  • Develop and maintain positive relations with subcontractors and homeowners.
  • Develop knowledge in building codes, construction materials, and methodologies.
  • Ensure all schedules, policies, and guidelines are maintained in the absence of the Superintendent.
  • Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner.
