About The Position

This position is responsible for: Assists in the planning and providing activities and child care services for school-age children participating in the After School and/or Summer Day Camp Programs; plans, develops, and facilitates recreational activities and play time; prepares and maintains program records; maintains cleanliness and orderliness of Club’s property. Assists the Summer Day Camp Director with day to day operations.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
45 hour required DCF School Age Training
Two years experience teaching child development programs in a church or pre-school, Or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid state driver's license
C.P.R. and First Aid Certification
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
Ability to observe children and ensure their safety.

Responsibilities

Provides leadership and constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner.
Assists the Director to ensure s activities for school age children; ensures that activities are age appropriate, stimulating, fun and safe for the children.
Determines appropriate supplies and materials for recreational activities; ensures the children's safety in utilizing the same.
Provides opportunities for physical and mental stimulation through both inside and outside learning activities.
Prepares and serves children snacks and meals; ensures that children receive nutritional and tasteful food; provides positive, relaxed atmosphere during children mealtime encouraging conversation.
Organizes and supervises recreational staff; observes, monitors, and supervises children on the playground when needed.
Prepares schedules, parent notices, newsletters and other instruments necessary for the smooth operation of all programs.
