About The Position

Direct the development and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for Olympic Sport student-athletes. May assist in training for football student-athletes. Essential Functions: Lead all aspects of sports performance for assigned Olympic teams. Assist in training for football athletes. Input athlete testing data. Input updated student-athlete's speed, strength and conditioning workouts. Communicate daily with the sports medicine staff regarding athlete injuries and rehabilitation procedures. Communicate with potential student-athletes during recruiting visits to the University of Akron campus about the speed, strength and conditioning program and facilities. Additional Position Information: Education: Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field required. Licenses/Certifications/Requirements: Certification by the NSCA, CSCCa, and/or USA weightlifting. Experience: Requires one year experience in participation of high school, collegiate level, or professional level in strength and conditioning. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required.
