The Assistant Strength Coach at Georgia State University plays a crucial role in the athletic performance program, focusing on the physical development of student-athletes. The Assistant Strength Coach collaborates with various stakeholders to implement effective training programs and supports the overall health and performance of student-athletes.

  • Design, implement, monitor, and modify athletic performance programs for assigned teams.
  • Engage in regular communication with athletic performance staff, sports medicine staff, sport coaching staffs, and all relevant stakeholders to develop and coordinate strategies to optimize student-athlete health and performance.
  • Assist in the implementation of athletic performance programs for non-assigned teams.
  • Engage in professional development activities to stay informed on the latest research and best practices in the athletic performance field.
  • Assist with the intern development program.
  • Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of athletic performance facilities and equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.
  • Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
  • Must possess and maintain one of the following certifications: CSCS through the NSCA or SCCC through the CSCCa.
