About The Position

The Assistant Coach, Strength and Conditioning uses a student-athlete first approach which focuses on the physical development and performance of student-athletes, seeks to contribute to the production of athletic teams that the Endicott Community will be proud of, and ensures the athletes are able to attack all of the demands required by collegiate athletics. This is a full-time, 10-month, benefit-eligible position.

Requirements

  • Possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or a related field
  • Certified by one or both of the following organizations: NSCA (CSCS) or the CSCCA (SCCC)
  • Certified in CPR/AED
  • Possesses the ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, work in various environmental conditions.
  • Demonstrates ability to interact effectively with college-age students.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous coaching experience in sports and or strength and conditioning
  • Other certifications that will advance the experience of the Student Athletes such as the United States Weightlifting Certification, Precision Nutrition Certification, and any others that pertain to sport performance.

  • Build relationships with each student-athlete
  • Foster a strong work ethic while contributing to the overall development and success of the student-athlete
  • Provide a safe and clean training environment
  • Program design and implementation
  • Utilize science-based information to enhance the athletic ability of the student athlete and teams they work with
  • Effectively collaborate with all athletic performance staff to integrate injury prevention strategies and facilitate efficient rehabilitation, resulting in reduced injury rates and quicker recovery times
  • Practice latest trends and advancements in athletic performance as well as leadership
  • Record and track student-athlete progress
  • Maintain clear and effective verbal and written communication with sport coaches to ensure alignment and collaboration on training goals and strategies
  • Gameday Management: Responsibilities may include multiple duties surrounding athletic events including but not limited to: Welcome the opposing team to campus Escort teams/coaches to locker rooms and playing fields Supervise the student workers at the event Act as site supervisor for the overall operation of an athletics event During championship events, be available for games
