About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) is responsible for assisting the general manager with the management of day-to-day operations of the store, while adhering to Global Partner's policies and procedures. Global Partners, a Fortune 500 company with over 90 years of experience, focuses on taking care of customers, guests, communities, and employees, operating responsibly and sustainably. The role involves completing daily accounting paperwork, supervising, developing, training, and disciplining hourly employees to uphold operational standards. The ASM monitors shift cash handling and inventory, assists in investigations of shortages/overages and inventory variations, and maintains business records. Administrative duties include banking, invoicing, payroll, and cash management procedures like bank deposits and change orders, all while adhering to cash control policies. The position also requires maintaining store image standards, high levels of cleanliness and sanitation, ensuring store security and safety, complying with environmental guidelines, reporting issues, coordinating gasoline deliveries, engaging in promotional initiatives, and promoting high levels of guest service. The ASM must perform duties as required by company policies and procedures and any other duties assigned by the General Manager or Territory Manager.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work flexible hours that may include day, nights, weekends and or holidays
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to communicate, count, read, and write accurately
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in intermittent temperatures, i.e., outside, cooler, etc.
  • Ability to reach, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb latter/stairs and lift up to 25 lbs. during a shift
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • Vocational or Technical Education High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the general manager with the management of day-to-day operations of the store
  • Adhering to Global Partner's policies and procedures
  • Complete required daily accounting paperwork and transmit by deadline
  • Supervise, develop, train and discipline non-exempt (hourly) employees
  • Holding employees accountable for upholding operational standards
  • Monitors shift cash handling and inventory
  • Assists in investigations of shortages/overages of $100 per month or less
  • Assists in investigations of inventory variations of .5% of sales or less
  • Maintains business records
  • Review cashier accountability sheets and records prescribed by the General Manager and or Territory Manager
  • Perform banking, invoicing, payroll, and/or other administrative duties as requested
  • Adhering to all Global Partner's cash control policies
  • Manage cash management procedures including bank deposits and change orders
  • Maintain Grand Opening Ready Standards –According to Global Partner's store image standards
  • Maintains high levels of cleanliness and sanitation
  • Ensures store is secure and safe
  • Complies with all safety and environmental guidelines
  • Report any issues to proper authority as well as management
  • Ensure adequate gasoline levels
  • Coordinate gasoline deliveries
  • Engage in all company promotional initiatives
  • Promotes a high level of guest service
  • Perform duties as required by company policies and procedures (encompasses Company Handbook)
  • Perform any other duties assigned by your General Manager/ Territory Manager
